The Nebraska Supreme Court on Friday upheld the life sentence of murderer Susan DeJong.
DeJong was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison plus 50 years for killing her 52-year-old husband Thomas Dejong in Fairbury in 2011.
DeJong appealed, claiming certain statements made while in police custody should not have been admissible during her trial.
“Susan Dejong used hammers to beat her husband to death,” said Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning. “She deserves to spend the rest of her life in prison.”
