Nebraska Substance Abuse Plan

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services has released a new strategic plan to reduce and prevent substance abuse.

Officials say the plan was developed with input from people throughout the state.

HHS's Scot Adams, who oversees the Division of Behavioral Health, says drug abuse, drinking and prescription drug abuse affects Nebraskans of all ages.

Adams says a combination of prevention and intervention strategies are needed to reduce substance abuse.
