Attendance at the Nebraska State Fair increased more than 1 percent over last year, with 336,987 people making it to the 11-day event in Grand Island.
It was the third straight year on increased attendance since the fair moved to Grand Island from its longtime home in Lincoln.
Fair Executive Director Joseph McDermott says organizers were happy with the figure, especially because of rain and high temperatures that hurt attendance on some days.
Surveys filled out by more than 11,000 fairgoers indicated that 30 percent were from central Nebraska, 29 percent were from Grand Island and 16 percent were from Lincoln or Omaha.
