A federal judge in Nebraska is once again raising eyebrows with a blog post. US Senior District Judge Richard Kopf used very casual slang while arguing the Supreme Court should have chosen not to weigh-in on the Hobby Lobby/ACA case.
“As the kids say, it is time for the Court to stfu,” writes Kopf.

Kopf argues the justices should have avoided adding division to our democracy, by avoiding the hot-button issue.
“Had the Court sat on the sidelines, I don’t think any significant harm would have occurred. The most likely result is that one or more of the political branches of government would have worked something out. Or not,” writes Kopf.
This isn’t the first time the judge has gained negative attention for his casual blog. A post written in March was titled “On being a dirty old man and how young women lawyers dress.”
Kopf was nominated to the District Court by George HW Bush in 1992. He served as chief judge from 1999-2004 and assumed senior status three years ago.
