A prison inmate suspected of robbing a Beatrice bank while on work release says he wasn't ready for freedom.
Lucius Turner was serving a 10- to 15-year sentence for robbing a Lincoln bank in 2007. Authorities say Turner robbed the Pinnacle Bank branch in Beatrice on Aug. 16. Turner had been assigned to work release and was supposed to be looking for a job that day.
In a prison interview Turner said that he knows how to survive in prison or on some mean streets in Omaha, but he floundered when he was given some freedom to go find a job.
The 31-year-old said that he doesn't "really think I was ready to go back out there."
