A former guard at a Nebraska corrections facility has been convicted of sexually abusing a parolee.
The Lincoln Journal Star says) Anoroy Loyuk was convicted last week. State law bars corrections employees from having sex with inmates or parolees, even if both parties agree.
He and the woman had met while Loyuk was working at the Community Corrections Center in Lincoln. It's a residential center for work release and other inmates.
Loyuk's lawyer told the court that the pair's relationship didn't begin until more than a month after she was paroled and was being supervised by a parole officer.
He's quit his job and the two are engaged.
Loyuk is scheduled for sentencing on Sept.
