The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has been stocking lakes and ponds with rainbow trout this fall and plans to continue.
Commission fisheries outreach program manager Daryl Bauer says the trout are relatively easy to catch and are in waters easily accessible to youths and beginning anglers.
Next week trout will be released in several locations, including TaHaZouka Park Pond in Norfolk; Pawnee Park West Pond in Columbus; Heartwell Park Pond in Hastings; Lake Halleck in Papillion; Steinhart Park Pond in Nebraska City; Grabel Ponds at Fort Robinson State Park; and the zoo pond in Scottsbluff.
