The City Council in Nebraska City has approved a proposal that five spots be set aside in town for loaner bicycles that could be used by tourists and residents.
The plan was approved earlier this week.
Organizers hope to have bicycles donated for the effort and have them placed in time for this year's Arbor Day celebration the weekend of April 26-28.
Organizers also hope that as the bike program progresses the city could set up or designate trails leading to the city's tourist attractions.
