Nebraska Cities To Celebrate Earth Day In April

Earth Day will be celebrated next month in communities around the state, including Omaha.

Nebraska's largest city will hold its 23rd Earth Day Omaha event on April 20 in Elmwood Park.

This year's event features noted environmental speakers, live music, more than 100 exhibiters and demonstrations by local green organizations. The event will also have food booths and a beer garden.

On-site electronics recycling will be available, and the Earth Day Omaha Coalition's annual Friend of the Environment Awards will be announced.

The city of Lincoln will hold its Earth Day event on April 21, and it will feature races at Wilderness Park, an afternoon festival in Antelope Park and Earth Night at the Rococo Theatre.
