A 9-year-old Nebraska boy is dead following an all-terrain vehicle crash on private property near Grand Island.
The Hall County Sheriff's Department says Jack Tanner Thompson was driving the ATV Friday evening about a mile northwest of the Central Nebraska Regional Airport in Grand Island when the crash happened. Investigators say the boy lost control of the ATV and crashed against a parked vehicle and it came to rest on top of the boy.
He was taken by ambulance to a Grand Island hospital where he was pronounced dead. Investigators say the boy was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
