A Nebraska inmate who claimed state prison officials did not protect him from being sexually assaulted by his cellmate has had his federal lawsuit over the matter dismissed.
A federal jury rejected the inmate's lawsuit against state prison officials.
The Associated Press do not name people who report being sexually assaulted.
The lawsuit says prison officials ignored the inmate's repeated
requests to be moved out of the cell, where he says his cellmate twice sexually assaulted him. Prison officials eventually moved the inmate to another cell.
The other inmate has denied sexually assaulting the man, and no
one has been charged.
