The Nebraska State Patrol is limiting its fingerprinting services at an Omaha office because of short staffing.
The patrol's announcement means the Troop A Headquarters-Omaha office will only provide fingerprinting services for sex offender registrants and conceal carry permits. The reduction is due to a staffing vacancy.
Officials expect to have full fingerprinting services back at the Omaha office by early October.
The patrol generally provides fingerprinting services for free at Troop Headquarters in Omaha, Norfolk, Grand Island, North Platte and Scottsbluff.
Fingerprinting services are available for a fee through other law enforcement agencies in the Omaha metro area.
