Navy Couple Celebrates Valentine's Day Homecoming In Special Way

On any given day, millions of people are in and out of airports, but on Friday one couple was celebrating a very special event right here in Omaha. They told WOWT 6 News it was a Valentine's Day they'd never forget.

The Stanton Family had been away from each other for 7 months as Lt. Commander John Stanton was serving as a Navy Pilot on the U.S. Truman since July. His arrival home just happened to fall on Valentine's Day.

After hearing her husband would be coming home on Valentine's Day, Shannon Stanton decided to do something special for her husband, John. Both are Navy Pilots and met while on the job. They have a 3 year old son, Brian, who she dressed as a pilot himself to greet his Dad. She also decided to get a Barber Shop Quartet to sing as he arrived.

John told WOWT 6 News he was shocked to see the quartet and it made his arrival home, and Valentine's day all the more special.

The two will be stationed here in Omaha, at Offutt, for at least 3 years.
