A subsidiary of Minneapolis-based Nash Finch Co. is buying Bag `N Save grocery stores in Nebraska.
Nash Finch says its subsidiary U Save Foods will take over 11 Bag `N Saves in the Omaha area and one in York.
Terms of the deal are not being disclosed. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter.
Bag `N Save owner Leon Shrago says the decision to sell the stores was difficult but he thinks there are many benefits for Bag `N Save employees, local suppliers and the community.
Nash Finch's core business is food distribution but it owns and operates supermarkets under various names, including Econofoods in Clear Lake, Iowa, and several Sun Mart stores in Nebraska.
