A skeleton found in the basement of an abandoned hospital in Ottumwa, Iowa is believed to have been a homeless man who lived decades ago and whose remains were used as a cadaver by the University of Iowa College of Medicine.

Jackie Moll graduated from St. Joe's in 1962 and is now chairwoman of the St. Joseph's Hospital Schools of Nursing and X-Ray Alumni. Moll doesn't know when then skeleton came to the school, but that at least one graduate remembers it from her freshman year in 1943.

An orthopedic surgeon confirmed the skeleton was a man and was in his mid-80s when he died. Officials say further identification is impossible.
