Authorities have identified two men they believe are responsible for the death of Jose Quintero. They are John Meyers, 29, and Joseph Fleming, 33. Both are in custody.
The suspects are accused of First Degree Murder and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony.
This investigation began on September 24, 2012 when the Sarpy County Sherriff’s Office responded to the discovery of a body in a rural field in Sarpy County near Ashland.
Investigators determined that the murder actually happened at 5810 A Street in Omaha.
On May 6, 2013, the Omaha Police Department’s Homicide Unit took over investigation of the homicide.
Warrants were issued for Meyers and Fleming but both of the suspects are already incarcerated. They’ll be booked on the new charges.
