A Council Bluffs man, charged with the murder of his wife, waived extradition in Douglas County Wednesday.
WOWT 6 News has learned 55-year-old Darwin Cox could be extradited to Council Bluffs as early as Thursday. He is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 44-year-old Millisa Cox.
Council Bluffs police were called to the couple's home, near 34th and Avenue B, on October 15. A standoff followed. According to police, when officers were passing a phone through a window, they noticed Cox was passed out. They went inside and found him on the floor with a wound to his chin.
Millisa Cox was rushed to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Darwin Cox was taken to an Omaha hospital following the standoff. He was released to Douglas County officials.
