A Pacific Junction, Iowa man was arrested Friday and charged with first-degree murder for the death of a 13-month-old girl.
An investigation indicated 22-year-old Colby Puckett was caring for Aliyanna May when she sustained injuries to her head and eyes. He is the boyfriend of the girl's mother.
May was hospitalized at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha last Friday. Doctors determined that her injuries were likely the result of abusive head trauma. Her death last Saturday was ruled a homicide.
Puckett is being held at the Mills County Jail on a $1 million bond.
