Update: Two Injured In Hit And Run Crash

Two people were injured in a hit and run crash Sunday evening on Highways 50 and 1, near Weeping Water.

According to authorities, a Dodge Caravan taxi, driven by 58-year-old Michael Timerman, was northbound on Highway 50. A juvenile passenger was in the vehicle, en route to Omaha, when a westbound pickup truck ran the stop sign at Highway 1.

The impact of the crash caused the van to spin and roll; it landed upright in the northeast ditch. First responders had to cut Timerman from the vehicle. He was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center via helicopter. The juvenile passenger was also hospitalized.

The driver of the pickup, a 1993 Chevy 1500, left the scene; however, the Sheriff told WOWT 6 News the driver later called an off duty Cass County deputy to confess. 28-year-old Andrew Zeorian was arrested on multiple charges, including leaving the scene of an injury accident, driving under the influence - 3rd offense, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs while causing an injury accident, resisting arrest, and obstructing a peace officer. He was also charged with several traffic violations.

As of noon Monday, both Timerman and the juvenile were still hospitalized. Timerman is now listed in fair condition.
