For the bad guys, the truth is that the law will eventually catch up with you. That appears to be the case this weekend in southeast Nebraska where three suspects were arrested for multiple burglaries.
The end of the road began about 3:15am Sunday. Gage County deputies were called out to East Walnut Road. A man named Ronald Holst reported seeing three people on his property going through his vehicles. After calling 911, Holst went to confront the thieves. Two ran off and one stayed put.
When deputies arrived a few minutes later, they arrested 19-year-old Patrick Adkins of rural Odell. Deputies then set up a perimeter. With the help of the Beatrice police K-9, officers found several items that were linked to the two suspects who ran from the scene.
Due to deteriorating weather conditions, the search for the two suspects was suspended.
However, officers began to check several addresses where the two suspects were known to stay. Around 9:30am Sunday, a deputy observed a pickup truck near South 9th Street & Beaver Street in Beatrice. The two people in the pickup matched the description of the suspects.
After the deputy pulled over the truck, the driver and passenger provided false names. A Beatrice police officer then arrived and was able to correctly identify the two. Eighteen-year-old Tyler Feagley of Beatrice and a 16-year-old boy were arrested.
It’s believed all three suspects are responsible for multiple burglaries in southern Gage County. Gage County Sheriff Millard “Gus” Gustafson asks anyone who lives in rural Odell check their property for missing items.
