An Omaha woman was killed in a crash on Interstate-680, near the Dodge Street exit, Tuesday morning.
According to Omaha police, a vehicle, driven by 28-year-old Katie Liquori, was slowed or stopping in the furthest right lane, attempting to exit onto Dodge, when the vehicle was rear-ended.
Police said the driver of the second car, 57-year-old Virginia Tardy, was traveling at "near interstate speeds." The impact of the crash sheared the axel from Tardy's vehicle, causing her to lose control and roll her vehicle. She was ejected through the sunroof.
Tardy was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition, but later died. Liquori was also taken to the hospital, but is expected to recover.
Police said no criminal charges are expected in this case.
