Nebraska Shakespeare on Tour is about to get rolling on its 2011 touring production of Much Ado About Nothing. The tour features a 75-minute performance at middle and high schools in Nebraska and Western Iowa. The tour will kick off with shows that the public can see. Several of those are free.
The first free performance will be Monday, September 19 at 7pm at Joslyn Castle’s north lawn. Another will be Sunday, September 25 at 1pm on the Castle green. Other performances for the public will be 6pm September 25 and 26. The cost is $75 per person. The event begins with a 6pm cocktail buffet followed by a special indoor performance. Much Ado About Nothing is a play of comic capers with a touch of romance. The comedy’s story revolves around two couples: Beatrice and Benedick, Claudio and Hero. The first couple is ngaged in a ‘merry war;’ proclaiming their scorn for love, marriage and each other. The other couple is made speechless by their love for one another.
