Forty-three years ago, an assertive young man decided to leave the Brandeis Shoe Department and begin a television career starting a new chapter in his life. Thursday, he turns the page and begins a new chapter… retirement.

Al Hall, who has over the years become known as “Mr. Wonderful,” ends his longtime career with WOWT NBC Omaha.

Al has seen it all in local television. When he started, there weren't computers in the building, there was no email, and a fax machine…what’s that?

Al worked at WOWT while the station was a CBS affiliate and when we had a radio station. He has seen the rise of cable TV, satellite, the internet, social networks, streaming video, VCRs, DVDs, DVRs and HDTV!

Many of you have worked with Al to build your own businesses through imaginative, powerful advertising campaigns. Please join all of us at WOWT in wishing Al a retirement filled with joy. Al says his first stop is a trip to Vegas.
