County gives approval on a trial basis for the Destination Plattsmouth Summer Entertainment series to move across the street to the south courthouse yard. With the street still fenced off because of the January 2nd fire, the Plattsmouth Main Street Association-sponsored events usually held in the 4th Street entertainment area need a temporary location.
The Cassgram reports Courthouse maintenance supervisor Norm Shelton said his biggest concern is the grass getting trampled and he is also uneasy about damage that could happen to the fountain. Cass County Board of Commissioners Chairperson Janet McCartney said she hoped children don’t climb on the cannon.
The board unanimously acted to allow the occasional weekend concerts and shows to be held there provided the county and the association come to terms on a hold harmless agreement and that the county is named as an additional party on the Main Street Association’s event insurance policy.
