Police Memorial Week kicked off Saturday with a special ride to honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
Around a hundred motorcyclists from the area left Dillon Brothers in Omaha and headed to Lincoln. There they’ll pick up another group and then ride to Grand Island for a ceremony.
It’s the sixth annual Nebraska Law Ride and many of the motorcyclists come out every year. Corey Clements said, “It’s important to remember those people who have paid the ultimate price and died in the line of duty. This is just the start of it.”
They also ride to generate money for the memorial wall in Grand Island. In the last six years they’ve raised $19,000.
