Motorcyclist airlifted from accident scene. The accident happened just before 7pm on Labor Day at the intersection of Highway 50 and Highway 66 near Louisville.
The Cassgram reports Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann advised that a black 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Michael Stubbendeck, age 54 of Elmwood, was heading south on Highway 50 and attempting to turn west onto Highway 66 when he lost control of the motorcycle after coming into contact with loose gravel. The motorcycle rolled two times.
Stubbendeck was thrown from the motorcycle and struck a 2001 Mitsubishi Monterosort driven by Alegandro Degante, age 21 of Omaha. Degante was stopped at the intersection of Highway 66 and Highway 50.
Stubbendeck was transported to Creighton Hospital by LifeNet with possible neck injuries. Degante did not suffer any injuries.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident, said Brueggemann. The accident is still under investigation.
