Iowa investigators have released more information about a missing businesswoman's car that was found near St. Louis over the weekend.
Forty-five-year-old Sharon Hopf, of Crawfordsville, was reported
missing last Thursday when she didn't show up for work at a home
furnishings company she owns in Kalona.
Her car was found on Saturday near Wright City, Mo., which is
along Interstate 70 about 30 miles west of St. Louis. Officials say
Monday the car was at an abandoned house outside the city limits.
Investigators say shortly after Hopf left for work, her cellphone
signal disappeared. Minutes later, her credit card was used at a
gas station in Ainsworth, along I-80. Her family says a stop at
that gas station isn't her normal routine.
