The Nebraska State Fair Volunteer program is looking for volunteers for the upcoming Nebraska State Fair starting on August 22. Grand Island Chamber president Cindy Johnson said, "As the fair grows, so does our need to have even more volunteers."
"Volunteers are a vital part of the Nebraska State Fair; from hospitality to providing information to helping out with the educational and children's programs, there is something for everyone who wishes to be a part of the Nebraska State Fair," Johnson said.
Executive Director of the State Fair Joseph McDermott added that "Each year, our volunteers give in excess of ten thousand hours of their time to make the State Fair the experience of a lifetime. Our volunteers are our ambassadors to the people of Nebraska with a smile, directions, or a helping hand. Each year our volunteers score an easy four-and-a-half out of five stars because they provide such excellent service.”
The Nebraska State Fair is Nebraska's premiere family event which sees over 325,000 people walk through its gates. The fair celebrates Nebraska's agricultural heritage while also providing entertainment, and up-close experiences with thousands of animals and exhibits.
