More Snow Expected Thursday

Light snow is expected to hit parts of Nebraska and most of Iowa on Thursday as both states continue to recover from a powerful storm last week.

The Channel 6 News Weather Authority says between two and four inches of snow could hit northeast Nebraska and northwest Iowa Thursday afternoon into Friday morning. The heavier snow is expected mainly along and north of Highway 20.

Between one and two inches is possible along and especially north of Interstate 80. One inch or less is possible south of I-80.

The snow is expected to be light and fluffy and will stick quickly on very cold roadways. A winter weather advisory goes into effect at noon Thursday across northeast Nebraska, northwest Iowa and southeast South Dakota.

Light snow should develop during the late morning hours near Norfolk and spread eastward towards the metro by 3 p.m. Thursday. Light snow is likely Thursday night before tapering off to snow showers by Friday morning.
