Businesswomen are feeling optimistic about the economy in 2013. A survey by the National Association of Women Business Owners found that more than 80 percent of female entrepreneurs feel positive about how their business will perform this year. They also predicted more women would join their ranks, with 85 percent of respondents expecting 2013 to be the best year yet for growing the number of female business owners.
Two of the country's most well-known retailers are preparing for a legal showdown. Macy's and J.C. Penney head to court Tuesday to battle it out over Martha Stewart. Macy's claims it has exclusive rights to sell Stewart's merchandise and wants to stop a sales agreement between Penney's and Stewart's company.
There's new data out that points toward solid gains in the housing market. Online real estate site, Redfin.com, says home prices last month increased ten percent over the same time last year in 19 major markets across the country.
