Police are looking for several suspects who robbed a woman of her purse and then dragged her several feet in the parking lot of Walmart at 180th and Center Monday night.
Amber Moore tells Channel Six went into the store to get groceries after work with her baby and purse in tow. Then after shopping, as she was unloading the groceries from her cart into the car, the unthinkable happened.
Moore said, "I had a case of Coke under there, so I bent down, picked it up. When I stood back up and turned around they had pulled up along the side of the car and a guy from the back passenger window reached out and grabbed my purse. I started screaming, my purse!"
Several guys in a Honda Civic had taken the purse from her cart. The purse had been right next to her baby. Moore instantly reacted, wanting to get her purse back. "I jumped, chased him down, jumped in after him trying to grab it and they just kept going, dragging me and dropped me."
She was dragged a few feet and had scrapes and asphalt marks on her uniform to prove it. Luckily her baby wasn't injured, but the men were able to get away with her purse. "I had to close down my accounts and my work badge is in there."
While she calls the bank, credit card company, and her work to let them know, she's just thankful that things ended the way they did. "He could have ran me over. It could have been a lot worse, I could have broken something."
Police are checking surveillance video at the Walmart to see if they can get a better look at the suspects. They are described as three white males and they were in a four door Honda Civic, that was silver or light blue.
