Another sex abuse trial is expected for a southwest Iowa man after a mistrial was declared because a jury couldn't reach a verdict.
KJAN radio in Atlantic says a Cass County judge declared the mistrial in the case against 52-year-old Roger Ericksen, of Lewis, on Thursday.
Ericksen is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in 2011. He was charged in December with 46 counts of third-degree sexual abuse, two counts of lascivious conduct with a minor and two counts of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse.
His trial began on Tuesday. Defense attorney Theodore Wonio refused to comment. Prosecutor Dan Feistner says the state will have another opportunity to retry the case.
