The park train in Missouri Valley, Iowa opens for the 2013 season on Saturday May 4.
The Watson Station in the city park houses two 12" gauge park trains. Originally the city had a 1948 vintage Ottaway Stream engine and three passenger cars. For the last few years there has also been a 1959 vintage gas powered streamliner in the park. It is on loan from a train collector in Chicago.
Starting this weekend the old streamliner will be replaced by a brand new gas powered train. It will make it's debut run on Saturday.
The hours of operation are 10 to 6 on Saturday and noon to 5 on Sunday. Tickets are $2 per ride.
