Bellevue Police are looking for assault suspect Michael Nordmeyer. He had been hospitalized with self-inflicted injuries but he left the hospital against medical advice on Wednesday and authorities are looking for him.
Police were called to investigate a domestic disturbance on South 28th Street at 12:30 Tuesday morning. The victim had called 911, whispering that she needed help.
No one answered the door and an officer then saw the suspect inside, getting a knife from the kitchen. The officers forced their way into the home where the woman who called-in the report told them that her boyfriend had physically assaulted her throughout the day.
Investigators say they heard the sound of a chainsaw in the basement. They found Nordmeyer down there. He was turning the chainsaw on and off and police say he had significant self-inflicted injuries from the saw.
Police subdued him with a Taser and he was taken to Alegent-Creighton Health for treatment.
At 7:30 on Wednesday morning, the Bellevue PD was told that Nordmeyer had left the hospital.
Police are looking for him and were in the process of trying to get a warrant for his arrest.
Anyone with information about where Nordmeyer can be found is asked to call Bellevue Police at 402-293-3100.
