Authorities say the remains found in a field on the west side of Columbus, Nebraska were those of a 58-year-old man who's been missing since December.
The Columbus Telegram reports the man was identified as William Noll, of Columbus.
Police Capt. Todd Thalken says an autopsy showed no sign that Noll's death was a result of a crime. Thalken says Noll had a history of health problems.
The remains were found Tuesday afternoon in a field north of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.
