Nebraska and Iowa have their representatives for next January’s Miss America pageant in Las Vegas. Mariah Cook was named Miss Nebraska Saturday night in North Platte and Mariah Cary took the title of Miss Iowa in Davenport Saturday night.
Cook, a Chadron native, said she is looking forward to meeting people all across the state while serving as Miss Nebraska over the next year. The first runner up was Miss Omaha Mindy Schreiber. The second runner up was Miss Lincoln Rachel Foehlinger.
Cary is from Burlington. Her platform is about promoting awareness of Tourette Syndrome. The first runner up was Miss Clinton County Alexandria Necker of DeWitt. The second runner up was Miss Scott County Taylor Weibers of Clinton.
