Millard North High School sent a note to all parents Thursday afternoon, saying they wanted everyone to be aware of an incident that occurred. The administration received reports of two students with weapons at school.
While no threat was made towards any student or staff member, the administration immediately contacted the School Resource Officer (SRO) and security procedures were followed.
Two students were found to be in possession of B.B. guns, and Millard North safely resolved the issue by involving the Omaha Police Department and by following the MPS Student Code of Conduct.
The administration says the safety of all Millard North students and staff members is their top priority. State Law and District policy require a full year of expulsion for possession of a gun including a B.B. gun.
The school will not say who the students are, or how the bb guns were found.
