The Millard Public School Board continues the hunt for a new superintendent with the three finalists being interviewed this week.
Thursday night was Dr. Michael Brophy’s turn and he said the key to good leadership is great communication.
"One of the things that has to happen as well as possible is there has to be an outstanding relationship with the cabinet, with everyone and everyone speaks freely and everybody shares their mind. People need to be free to say what needs to be said not what they want to hear."
The first interview was conducted Tuesday with Dr. James Sutfin. He is the current Assistant Superintendent for Millard Public Schools. That was followed on Wednesday night with the interview of Dr. Kelli Moulton, a superintendent for a Texas District.
The finalists each participate in a day-long visit in the district. Each candidate will meet with teachers, principals, members of the executive cabinet, and tour the district.
A final selection for the next Superintendent is expected to be made the first week in April following review of public input and Board deliberation.
