The Millard Public School Board has named three finalists in its search for the next Superintendent.
The finalists are: Dr. Michael Brophy, current Superintendent of West Valley School District in Washington; Dr. Kelli Moulton, Superintendent of Hereford ISD in Texas; and Dr. James Sutfin, current Assistant Superintendent for the Millard Public Schools.
As part of the process, finalists will each participate in a day-long visit in the district. Each candidate will meet with teachers, principals, members of the executive cabinet, and tour the district.
In the evening on each of their respective dates, finalists will participate in an open-session Board interview at 6 p.m. The scheduled date for each candidate is as follows: Dr. Sutfin, March 25th; Dr. Moulton, March 26th; and Dr. Brophy, March 27th.
Pat Ricketts, President of the Millard School Board said, "It is our privilege as a board to be in the process of conducting a national search to secure top talent.
“Working through PROACT Search we received 44 quality applications for our consideration. The search firm applied the ideals of the community engagement, employee input and those of the board to recommend 10 qualified individuals.
“As the board worked through the process this allowed for the candidate pool to be reduced to the three finalists. The board is confident that each of the finalists have the talent to lead Millard's world class students, staff, parents and community towards continued excellence.“
A final selection for the next Superintendent is expected to be made the first week in April following review of public input and Board deliberation.
