An Omaha elementary school student was injured by broken glass on Monday.
Theresa Thomas says her daughter Jada pushed open a door at Indian Hill Elementary School when the glass shattered. Thomas said Jada was cut and needed 11 stitches.
"The first thing on your mind is glass, panic and then when you're in the emergency room and you get to see the severity of what the glass did, it was like her meat was hanging out," said Thomas.
Administrators immediately tended to Jada and informed her family of the situation. OPS says it takes the safety of students very seriously.
