Some Papillion youngsters are taking on the weight of the world. Their big idea is to help those who don’t have shoes.
The students at Patriot Elementary are collecting shoes through the end of the month.
From the Girl Scouts to the Student Council, organizers are hoping donations top 5,000 pair.
It's called Soles 4 Souls. A Tennessee company will ultimately deliver the shoes.
Sixth-grader Jaiden Jerath said, “Soles 4 Souls is a program where you donate shoes to needy families so they can have shoes."
Fourth-grader Emily Mathison added, “A lot of people in other countries, it's very surprising that they don't have shoes. Because they could get sick."
You can drop off shoes at Patriot Elementary. Students at Bell and Walnut Creek are also participating. You have until February 28th to take part.
