No one picked the six correct numbers in the latest multi-state Mega Millions lottery game, sending the jackpot to an estimated $500 million for Friday's drawing. It's $341 million if you win and choose the cash option.
The multi-state Mega Millions game has not had a jackpot winner since January 27th.
In Tuesday night's game, 47 players came close, matching five of the six winning numbers. Each of those tickets is worth at least $250,000. The winning numbers Tuesday night were 9, 19, 34, 44 and 51. The Mega Ball was 24.
People were out and about buying tickets Tuesday hoping to purchase the winning lottery ticket. There have been 17 consecutive drawings since January without a winner.
Richard Weathers is hoping he'll have the winning numbers.
“I mean the odds are astronomical, but I mean you can only dream. It gives you a night to dream about going away to islands or owning your own island.”
If there's a winner Tuesday night, it would be the third largest jackpot in Mega Millions history.
Drawings happen Tuesday and Friday at 10:00p.m.
