Medical Condition May Have Led To Fatal Crash

Investigators suspect a medical problem may have caused a fatal crash on the northeast side of Lincoln.

The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office says the accident occurred a little before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. 6 at North 98th Street.

The office says 71-year-old Robert Richmond was driving northeast when his pickup went out of control. It veered across the roadway into a ditch and traveled about 200 yards before running into a clump of trees.

Richmond, of rural Waverly, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was driving alone in his truck.

Authorities are still investigating but say they think a medical problem may have caused the crash.
