A program called the "Junior Golf Club of Omaha" will give kids the opportunity to play golf for free at all city operated courses.

Starting May 27th, kids ages 8-14 will be able to play free golf when accompanied by an adult.

The program is active at all city 9-hole courses. At Westwood Golf Course, clubs, balls and tees will be provided for free as well.

The Junior Golf Club gives kids an opportunity to participate in one of our country’s favorite sports. They will learn respect, etiquette and patience and have fun doing it. We’re happy to make this opportunity possible,” said Mayor Jean Stothert.

To qualify, each child must attend a 30-minute Player Certification Clinic, taught by City of Omaha golf pros.

Kids will learn the fundamentals of the game, course safety and golf rules and then receive a Junior Players Card good at any of the city’s four nine-hole golf courses.
