Two firefighters were hurt battling a blaze at a Carter Lake business Saturday night.

Crews from Carter Lake, Omaha and Council Bluffs were called to General Manufacturing at North 5th Street and Avenue J around 9 p.m. A propane tank explosion helped fuel the flames.

One firefighter was treated at the scene and returned to work, the other was taken to Alegent Creighton Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The Fisher family has owned the business that made bar stools and stacked chairs for more than 50 years. Arlene Fisher says the family plans to rebuild the plant. Twelve people were employed there.

The Iowa State Fire Marshal's office is trying to determine what caused the fire.
