It’s that time of the year when many of us are hitting the stores to find the perfect gift. Well, small businesses want to remind us, don’t forget them, especially on this Small Business Saturday.
A credit card swiping, it’s the sound every small business owner was hoping to hear Saturday and at The Bookworm, they were. Customers were coming in to browse and to buy.
Molly Gernas and her daughter said they love shopping at the store. They decided to shop at Countryside Village in order to support their local businesses.
The Mix was also hoping to cash in. The store sells shoes and accessories. It has been in business for two years and this special day helped to bring in customers like Tara Chickinell. “My husband's family owns a small business, so we like to give back to all the small businesses.” She did, buying some boots at the store.
Employees at Stems said once you come in, you’ll understand why small businesses are so great. “I think that any small business in Omaha that you'll receive better personal customer service, it's certainly friendlier," said Sue Sand Hoefner.
Of course the day is a nice boost for the stores, but owners hope you will choose them over large retailers all year long.
