A 20-year-old Louisville man has been given two years of probation in a York County stolen checks case.
The York News-Times reports that Michael Burton was sentenced last week.
A Beaver Crossing couple had reported that Burton had been
staying with them and that in August of last year they noticed some
blank checks were missing. They later found canceled checks they
suspected were written by Burton and cashed by him, totaling nearly $1,360.
Burton pleaded no contest to unauthorized use of a financial
transaction device. Prosecutors dropped two other charges in exchange for Burton's plea.
He also must make restitution.
