A federal judge has given a 49-year-old Niobrara man 30 months in prison for sexually assaulting a drunken woman.
A news release from the office of U.S. Attorney Deborah Gilg
says Larry Rouillard was sentenced on Thursday by Senior U.S. District Judge Lyle Strom in Omaha.
Prosecutors say the FBI and Santee Sioux Tribal Police
investigated Rouillard after a woman reported a possible rape the
night of May 29, 2010, on the Santee Sioux Indian Reservation.
She told officers that she and Rouillard had been drinking that night
and early the next morning.
The news release says Rouillard admitted having sex with the
woman while she was passed out. During his testimony, he said the
sex was consensual.
