Firefighters responding to a report of a brush fire found a man dead at the scene.
At 6p.m. Sunday fire crews from Magnolia, Iowa and Logan, Iowa arrived at the scene of a brush fire at a residence on Minot Pl in Harrison County. A man identified as 83-year-old Miles James Barnhart was found dead at the scene.
Investigators say the brush fire looks like it started near a burn barrel, and that it appears Barnhart was attempting to put the fire out.
The grass fire was extinguished. There was no damage to any structures.
