An Omaha man was cut by a man he said he did not know near 19th and Leavenworth around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say 23-year-old Billy Johnson was visiting friends who work at a shop on the corner of 19th and Leavenworth. Johnson then walked north on 19th Street when an unidentified man jumped out and stabbed Johnson on the arm.
The suspect then ran north on 19th Street.
Johnson went back to the shop and friends called 911. He was taken to Creighton Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers checked surveillance cameras at the Douglas County Corrections Center just east of the stabbing scene, but the video revealed nothing.
The suspect is still at large.
